Reservations:
We will require a 25% booking deposit to secure your reservation. With the balance of the rental charge payable at least 28 days before commencement of hire.
Security Deposit:
There is a refundable £500.00 Security Deposit payable on the day of departure by credit or debit card. The amount will be debited from your account immediately. This is fully refundable within 3 days of return of the vehicle, at the agreed time and date, in the same condition as it was let out to you , with the toilet empty, the interior clean including all cooking appliances. The tank full of fuel and gas bottle full. The hirer should also be aware that the security deposit will be used to fund any loss or damage to equipment, fixtures and fittings, windows, tyres or negligent damage to the vehicle.
Cancellation:
We must be notified in writing, should the hirer cancel.
More than 6 weeks before - booking deposit.
6 weeks - 4 weeks: 50% of total hire charge.
4 weeks - no show: 100% of total hire charge.
Insurance:
Standard excess. A £1000.00 excess is required. (see insurance and extras).
Personal identification requirements on day of hire:
2 items of proof of residential I.D. of hirer.(Utility bill, credit card statement, bank statements) are acceptable.
Full driving license paper and photo part. (We cannot release the vehicle without these items being present).
Vehicle collection and return:
Dates and times as per your agreed reservation form must be adhered to . Late returns are subject to an excess charge of £50 per hour, Insurance cover will be withdrawn after the agreed return time. Please allow half and hour for a vehicle familiarisation session.
Free parking:
We have free secure parking if you would like to leave your car here, at your own risk. Airport and train station pick up service available by negotiation.
Breakdown cover:
Free breakdown cover is included in the cost of hiring. Any call out charges necessitated by the client through operator error, e.g. a flat vehicle battery will be the responsibility of the client.
Limitations & Liabilities:
Borders Motorhome Hire accepts no responsibility for replacement vehicle costs, travel or accommodation costs or any other loss claims arising from a motor home breakdown or accident. We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance.
The hirer is liable for any cost incurred for speeding or parking fines, congestion charges or any other offences committed under the road traffic act regulations. The hirer shall not carry more passengers than the seating capacity of the vehicle and will ensure that seatbelts are worn by all passengers while in motion.
Vehicle condition:
Before commencement of hire the hirer is advised to check the vehicle thoroughly before leaving the premises of Borders Motorhome Hire.
The Vehicle must be returned in the same condition as when hired, with the interior and appliances clean, otherwis cleaning charges will be applied. We will also charge £50 for the cleaning of any un-emptied chemical toilets and for the cleaning of dirty upholstery. Smoking is not permitted in the motor homes.
Fuel & Gas
A full tank of fuel is supplied with the vehicle at commencement of hire and hirer is expected to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel. There will be a surcharge of £25 plus the cost of fuel for any fuel shortage. The hirer will be liable if incorrect fuel is used.
The vehicle is supplied with 2 bottles of gas. At least one of these bottles will be full. The cost of any refills thereafter will be the responsibility of the hirer, who shall also ensure two bottles of the same type and size are returned with the vehicle with at least one bottle being full. In the event that none are full on return of vehicle then there will be a £25 charge for an 11kg bottle, and £19 charge for a 6kg bottle.
